The PaddlUp Awards 2022

22nd December 2022

The PaddlUp Awards ceremony 2022 with a line-up of used sports cars and supercars

We’ve had some exceedingly special cars occupying The Gallery in 2022. From the madness of retro Ferrari to the refind pinnacle of performance that comes with modern McLarens, and everything in between.

We’ve had it all this year so we wanted to dish out a few awards to highlight some of our stand-out consignments this year, be they sold or still listed for sale.

Of course, we wanted to give awards to every car at The PaddlUp Rooms, each one has its own captivating story to tell and we can’t help but get caught up in it. But these are just a few of our most memorable cars in 2022.

Sports car of the year: 2021 992 Porsche Carrera S (SOLD)

The very essence of the sports car legend. This Agate Grey Metallic over a Black and Bordeaux two-tone leather interior example was specified for the Porsche connoisseur and had just 1,920 miles on the odometer. In the end, there was only one choice for this category.

Track car of the year: 2017 McLaren 675LT Clubsport (SOLD)

We fell in love with his Napier Green, 500 production unit, Clubsport Package 675LT during its time at The Gallery. It exuded unparalleled on-track performance, handling, braking and driver involvement and so, was a natural fit for our track car of the year.

Classic of the year: 1969 Aston Martin DB6 Saloon (FOR SALE)

They don’t come much more iconic than this. This shape of course became synonymous with the UK’s greatest secret agent, James Bond, but the DB6 transcends that reputation. With a rich history in The Swinging Sixties, it's hard not to look at this car and think ‘instant classic’.

Supercar of the year: 2016 Lamborghini Aventador SV LP750-4 (FOR SALE)

Representing the top tier of Lamborghini and the last of the V12 lineage, the Aventador is iconic, striking and mind-bendingly fast. With the addition of the SV LP750-4 appellation, this is up there with the most extreme of contemporary supercars.

Caught off guard award: 2020 Bentley Continental GT V8 (FOR SALE)

As the award name might suggest, this Continental GT caught our team completely off guard. Its striking Linen Beige Hide with Hotspur Red interior and complementary Dragon Red II paintwork certainly aren’t something you see every day! This unconventional aesthetic is as charming as it is captivating.

Best rumble award: 2013 Ferrari F12berlinetta (FOR SALE)

As the most powerful road car Ferrari had ever produced at release in 2012, the F12’s 12-cylinder won numerous awards including the 'International Engine of the Year Award 2013' for 'Best Performance Engine' and 'Best Engine above 4.0 Litres' and its easy to hear why upon start-up.

PaddlUp’s marque of 2022: Ferrari

With so many worthy examples from Aston Martin and Porsche it was a tricky choice for our marque of the year. But having sold a Pista Piloti, two Testarossas, an F430, an 812 Superfast and with a trio of gated manuals currently for sale, it had to be the stable of the prancing horse.

Gold dust award: Ferrari 599 SA Aperta (SOLD)

Celebrating 80 years of Pininfarina, just 80 of the 599 SA Aperta were built and only one left the factory with this vibrant orange leather and gold fleck paintwork. The inclusion of the ‘SA’ honours Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina, the father and son duo who oversaw the majority of the relationship with Ferrari.
