The M4 GTS simply put, is a lighter, focused, and very, very, fast evolution of the already-wonderful M4. Limited to only 700 units worldwide and only 30 officially sold here in the UK, the M4 GTS is as rare as they come.

While power from the wonderful twin-turbocharged 3.0 litre inline-6 S55 has been raised from 425bhp to 493bhp (in thanks to a clever water injection system allowing cooler intake temperatures to run more boost through the twin turbos) the GTS follows in the footsteps of other limited edition BMW greats such as the M3 CSL and the E92 M3 GTS, the real work has been what's going on underneath.

Gone are the original dampers and springs and in their place sits three-way adjustable coilovers, allowing adjustment for the drivers individual requirements. There are thicker anti-roll bars to compliment, and the car has been finely tuned to make the most of the improvements. Revised steering gives a better grip over what the upgraded Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres are doing, these in turn wrapped around forged lightweight 19 inch alloys to the front and 20 inch to the rear.

The carbon fibre roof and tailgate are carried over from the regular M4, while the titanium exhaust saves a further 7kg in weight. This GTS was specified with the Clubsport Pack - this fills the void where the rear seats used to be in the regular M4 with a roll cage, fire extinguisher and both driver and passenger are held in the one piece bucket seats by race harnesses. Reduced soundproofing allows a more exciting soundtrack from the inline 6, and compliments the bark from the exhaust, while braking is taken care of by the standard fit - and very capable - carbon ceramic brakes. 

The reduced weight and beefed up suspension isn't just for show either; the GTS is nearly 30 seconds faster around the Nurburgring than a regular M4. 0-62mph comes and goes in a scarce 3.8 seconds and doesn't stop accelerating until reaching its 190mph top speed. 

This particular one-owner M4 GTS looks menacing in its dark colour combination, with it's Frozen Dark Grey Metallic finish, is presented in 'as new' condition, with only 247 miles showing on the odometer.

Now to be clear we haven't got a crystal ball but from what we recognise, of similar pre-generation models this Clubsport could easily become a AAA.
